Vanessa and Sam have known each other most of their lives but they went their own way after high school. Fast forward many years later, they both found themselves single and reconnected through social media. They have been together ever since. Due to medical issues, Sam retired after 40+ years in the workforce and they never thought they’d be able to own their own home. They learned about the *Get Ready Class for people who wanted to address their financial situations and “get ready” for homeownership. After completing that, they applied to the Habitat Program and were accepted for the Class of 2024! They are looking forward to having a nice garden, doing some backyard BBQing on the patio, and hosting their family for special events.
*The Get Ready Class is a FREE program sponsored by Dominion Financial Management Inc, United Way of Rutherford & Cannon Counties, and Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity. The Get Ready Class is a free homeownership prep class that provides and creates a plan to help improve your finances, repair credit, reduce debt, learn money management and provide resources for successful homeowner ship.
