Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International Mission:Seeking to put Gods love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Our Mission: Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing ministry, seeks to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. This is done through building quality, affordable, sustainable houses while partnering alongside low-income, working families. Homes are built by RCHFH construction staff, partner families, and community volunteers. After a home is completed, it is sold to the family at no profit with a zero interest loan.

"All of God's people should have at least a simple, decent place to live."

~ Millard Fuller, Habitat for Humanity Founder

Nissan House Build!

October 28 - January 14

Nissan is celebrating 10 years of partnership with Habitat for Humanity by helping to build homes across the country, including Murfreesboro. Working with Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity, Nissan employees will work for several weeks to build a three-bedroom home.
We are grateful to partners like Nissan for helping Habitat for Humanity build homes, communities and hope, said Terri Shultz, Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanitys Executive Director. We are thankful for their contributions to our community and across the country.

NEWS: Daily News Journal article on our Nissan House Build

This will be the 131st Habitat home built in Rutherford County since 1989. The Newbold Family will be the recipients of the home that is being built in the South Maney neighborhood. Zach and Nikki are looking forward to their home build, to having a stable environment where they can minister to others, and invest in their childrens future. Thank you to Nissan for providing funding and volunteers to help build our home, said Nikki Newbold, future homeowner. Thank you for giving us something to start our family legacy on and for the dedicated, stable support you offer the Habitat mission.
Recognized as a U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for the past five years, Nissan equips its sponsored Habitat homes with many green-living features, including low-flowing plumbing fixtures, programmable thermostats, energy-efficient fluorescent lighting, high-performance windows and ENERGY STAR appliances.
Nissan is also donating 10 vehicles to help with sustainable construction and to support Habitats disaster response efforts. Some of the vehicles will be used to double Habitats Mobile Response Unit fleet to 10 units, boosting its capacity to quickly support U.S. affiliates and their long-term recovery efforts following natural disasters.
Nissans contributions to Habitat for Humanity in North America amount to more than $13 million over the past 10 years. The partnership with Habitat began in 2005 to support response efforts to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the Gulf Coast region. Nissan donated 50 trucks and mobilized employees to assist in homebuilding. In the last decade, Nissan has donated an additional 78 vehicles.
Since 2006, Nissans employees have logged more than 70,000 volunteer hours with Habitat for Humanity, building 63 homes across the United States and serving 569 families.

Zack & Nikki Newbold & Family

Over the last four years, Zach and Nikki have lived with her parents, in a tiny attic apartment, a main level apartment, and currently live in a small, two bedroom condo. Shortly after the wedding, Zach left the construction industry and began working full-time at Mid-America Distributors. Nikki is a stay a home mom to the couples two children; Zoe and Eli. From day one, it has always been important to Zach and Nikki that their home be a place to minister to not only their family but also to others in need. As their family grew, their space became more limited and their hope of being able to afford their own home was a distant dream.
The Newbold Family would like to thank Nissan for their sponsorship and volunteer efforts to build their home. Thank you for giving us something to start our family legacy on and for your dedicated, stable support of the Habitat mission, Nikki said with a smile. We are so appreciative of everyone who has been a part of this journey and to those we have yet not met. It is awesome that we are all working together to help grow the kingdom.
